These interviews began with a question I kept wanting to ask the healers who have helped shape my own path: What led you to this work?

 

The more I came to know the people behind the practices, the more curious I became about the stories that led them here. What first drew them toward this work? What changed the direction of their lives? Who influenced them along the way — teachers, mentors, family, friends, or perhaps someone they encountered only briefly but never forgot? What did they have to unlearn, and what did they come to understand about healing through their own experience? Each conversation is a chance to slow down and listen — to beginnings and turning points, the people and places that shaped them, and what healing has come to mean through their own experience. The practice is part of the story, but it isn't the whole story; I'm interested in what lies underneath it.

 

These are their stories. But perhaps, somewhere within them, you'll find a piece of your own. You may already be a healer. You may be moving through your own season of healing. Or perhaps you've simply felt a quiet pull toward this kind of work and wondered where it might lead. These stories aren't meant to offer a single answer. They're an invitation to listen, to wonder, and perhaps to see something of your own path reflected in someone else's.

 

Over time, I hope these conversations become a collection of the different ways people find their way to this work — from different people, places, traditions, and experiences, each personal, yet carrying something familiar underneath. I'd like to follow those threads beyond my own backyard, meeting people where they live and work, letting the landscape and community around them become part of the story. I don't know exactly where the project will lead, and I think that's part of the beauty of it. For now, I'm following the curiosity, one conversation at a time.
